New Love, New Year
It's a brand new year.
Love and love relationships start within. So most important, whether in one love relationship or another over time, I deepen that core belief that I am lovable. That is a primary journey. I learn to let go of shame and hurt from the past and love myself, opening myself to love others. I'm glad for all the good work in that direction over the last few years.
2013 gives me an opportunity to share that love with myself within the context of getting to know others. That's at work, within my family, with my friends, and in dating.
In dating, it is even more critical to maintain a healthy view of myself in relationship to others. It's so hard to lose myself in new discoveries of others--I want to know everything: the geography of their childhoods, the intricacies of childhood favorite meals. That means I have to set good boundaries and continue to manage the other aspects of my life, while learning more about another person. Work, family, home, friendships, all matter. It's one holistic self and other relationship circle that makes a whole life.
Love relationships are just a part of the bigger picture. I balk, but must, tend to it all. Here's to a holistically beautiful year.
