Nothing compares to You
It's that commercial holiday again. One designed for selling chocolates, wine, cards, flowers, expensive dinners, and to depress single folks across the world. There are countries where there was no such thing and now it's virusing across the planet.
Define love for yourself and the people who you hold dear whether or not you are in a relationship with a lover.
And vow to let them know in your own time, in your own way throughout the year. Pick March 14th as your day of sharing love, or pick a way to share love everyday: perhaps with a smile to a stranger once a day.
It is is the daily phone call to my love, that our expression of affection most lives. We care enough to share the little hurts, the tender joys and the pedestrian with each other.
It is that time of our journey together when we start to look at the travelling between our homes and the time apart as less appealing than living together. We're choosing to be very thoughtful about this process. In fact, we're even deferring the real conversations about this for another month and a half. It's there though, in the space between us, a longing to be in the same home.
That tension is our Valentine this year. And though our simple ceremonial dinner ('cause he loves these holidays) will be filled with love, it's just a symbol of our daily ritual of care, respect, admiration and joy in our bonding company.
