A wonderful man
We had our first intense conversation. Honeymoons when everything is perfect last for some time. And that time is important to seal the emotion that comes up with a lover who will hopefully also become a best friend. It's the intense conversations that build the friendship: the joining of the raw spaces, the vulnerabilities that make us human together.
And we had one of those conversations this past weekend out of a 4 day spell together. Kent Falls, long rides and walks in the woods, and of course...cuddling. And then the conversation about parts of our lives that are decidedly unpretty. And we were OK. It was hard. It scared me and he shared it scared him too, and we walked through it. We were kind to each other.
I think it made us stronger and more bonded. We'll see. Relationships are hard work.
